BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger, heavier assailant by using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint-locks and choke holds to defeat the opponent. BJJ training can be used for sport grappling tournaments or a fun way to gain fitness and meet new people. However it can also be used very effectively in self defense situations.
Although the gym is focused mainly on Jiu Jitsu, we also offer kickboxing as a striking and fitness sport to compliment the grappling art, as well as incorporating blunt and edged weapon defense to provide a complete self defense system. We offer a variety of classes for self defense, sport and fun! Our classes are structured so information is delivered to everybody effectively, regardless of your level with a focus on beginners.
